Birtukan is 13 years old child. She lives with her parents and her siblings (two brothers and a sister). But her father has strong pain in his legs and he is not able to work. Her mother is a daily laborer, and the meager income that she gets doesn’t cover the need of the family. As a result, the local office of Women, Children and Social Affairs brought Birtukan to Hanna Orphans Home.

Birtukan is a calm, polite, and obedient girl.
