Danawit is an active, friendly, and obedient little girl. Unfortunately, she is from a complicated family situation. Prior to their marriage and Danawit's birth, her parents were HIV-negative. Her father left the family for some time. When he returned Danawit's brother was born. During his medical care, they learned that her parents and brother were now all HIV positive. Her father again left the family and her mother had a very difficult time with this information.

Due to this, the Women and Children's Affairs Office referred Danawit to Hanna Orphan's Home.

She is doing very well at Hanna Orphan's Home!  Since then, the organization is providing her with holistic services like food, clothing, medication, educational materials, tutorial and library support, and recreational and psycho-social support. The father is an irresponsible person and unfortunately, still he comes and goes and disturbs the family instead of support. But, the mother is strong and helps her children and herself by washing clothes in private houses and participating in income-generating activities under the support of HOH.

Danawit is an active, happy, sociable, and obedient daughter. Currently, she is attending her education in Grade 6 in a nearby primary school.
